　This is the latest piece from the highly popular craftsman, Shozan. The shop owner is utterly enamored with his Eisui style's Kinki, and we couldn't resist ordering again. The workmanship is superb, and the polishing and every detail are flawless. Features luxurious peacock figured wood. It develops a beautiful amber patina with use. The set includes 3 kings and 22 pawns, totaling 45 pieces. The backside patterns are uniformly matched, showcasing the consistent wood quality unique to our shop.

　Shozan's work is known for its time-consuming and careful work. I am looking at it carefully with a magnifying glass, and the use of lacquer is smooth and elegant. The typeface is a gentle and easy-to-read Kinki. The wood is an attractive and elegant red grain, a top quality wood for professional use. The wood's withered taste, fine grain, brightness, and color are all excellent, and the heaping up is the work of a master craftsman.

　Shoryusai is a standard typeface that appeals to everyone. While it is attributed to Shoryusai, a shamisen player from the Meiji era, it is truly a popular typeface—so much so that Ikkyo Okuno also named it Okuno-Kinki. This time, it was crafted using premium tigerstriped wood. It is a masterpiece where the creator's meticulous attention to detail is evident throughout.

　This is the shop owner's absolute favorite—the usual Eisui style Maki-Ryoko. While Shozan is recommended for all four major typefaces, Maki-Ryoko's dynamic energy is truly remarkable. Before I knew it, I've been ordering Maki-Ryoko exclusively lately. The thickness of the strokes and the balance of strength and softness are flawless. It's a work of elegant and serene beauty.
